INTELLENET Guideline Letter 2002-1
|
Each Regional Director will actively participate in recruiting professional members in areas where they are needed within their regions. If a Regional Director becomes knowledgable of a potential candidate in any region, advise the Executive Director, who will undertake the appropriate follow-up action. The procedure at this time, commences when the Executive Director notifies the membership via e-mail or fax, identifying the potential new member and soliciting comments from those who know the candidate and wish to comment. The procedure set forth in Article III, Section 1 of the Association By-laws is then implemented. In your recruiting efforts, emphasis should be placed on ethical practices, professional attributes and geographical location as opposed to other considerations. Regional Directors should also attempt to ensure that there is an INTELLENET member in every major city and state capital in their region.
You are reminded that a Regional Director may appoint an Assistant Regional Director, as set forth in Article IV: Officers & Directors; Section 4 Duties; f. Regional Directors of the association by-laws.
A Regional Director is responsible for providing assistance to any INTELLENET function or member within that director’s region.
A Regional Director is expected to prepare an annual report of activities within or relating to their region. These reports should be forwarded to reach the Executive Director in time for him to prepare the data for presentation at the INTELLENET conference, board of directors meeting, and for his newsletters each year. This responsibility is imposed upon the Regional Director in lieu of the assessment required from other members.
All Regional Directors are encouraged to attend the annual Board of Director’s meeting. It is understood that business exigencies will occasionally preclude attendance by a director but continuous or frequent inattendance may subject the director to being replaced, at the discretion of the Executive Director. This is not to be construed as a penalty but rather as an accomodation to the needs of the association and all of its members.
Regional Directors are encouraged to make contact with members in their region on a random basis to enhance camaraderie, esprit-de-corps and to resolve any issues.
All Regional Directors shall assist the Executive Director with the administration of policies and procedures within their region and perform any other duties requested by the Executive Director.
